Know When You Need a Firm Bra

Most women and girls want to wear a bra, the girls when they are old enough to do so. The bra was invented initially as a means of protecting the breasts more than as aesthetic aids to femininity. This latter notion only developed when the dress evolved into simpler designs and materials were found enabling designers to create different bra forms. And from thence came the reasons why women need bras. In short the needs were invented as bra designs were developed. Just read any bra advertisement or blurb and you will discern it.
But there are situations when you need a bra, and not just any bra, a firm bra. By 'firm bra' it means a bra that can protect your breast from being hurt either from external sources or internal stress, and more probably, both. Such a bra also forms your breast the right way, to make you appear slimmer and correctly endowed, as well as allow any clothes you wear to fall the way it should. In short, it should protect your breasts and make you look more beautiful at the same time.
So what can a firm bra be? In many ways it depends on what you need. For instance, if you are rather athletic and perform rigorous activities as part of your everyday routine, you may want to use a firm sports bra. This kind of bra covers your breasts fully, preventing them from moving around too much (or not at all) when you do your exercises, as in, say, running or playing basketball. It would have a good elastic band, deep enough cups, wide shoulder straps and side support, and tougher fabric than ordinary bras.
Aside from supporting your figure, the firm bra should be able to protect your body enough you don't get hurt much if you for example get hit by a ball, falls down, bumped by others and some such accidents. The bra should absorb part of the impact somehow.
If your breasts are rather saggy or appear to be, you would need a full support firm bra. This kind may have underwires or plastic boning, encompasses the breasts fully or partially depending on the occasion, wider straps and snug chest band. The bra should push your breasts inwards and up to make them look younger and perkier, and thus more appropriate to your age. Some women do have breasts that appear saggy even when they are young.
To find the right firm bra, it would be necessary for you to get measured, or you can measure yourself. Check online for the instructions. Shop for them personally first, not online, to get the correct fit. Only when you have determined the kind, brand and design you want should you go online shopping. Find the firm bra that fits you comfortably, without bulging or spilling anywhere, and padded with the kind of material that you feel safe with: foam, gel, fabric, water or air.
Once you found the bra you like, buy one or two to experience them and if you really like them, purchase them online at www.orlinas.com in the colors and styles you love.

Know the Types of Cleavage Bras and Non-Bras

If you want to enhance your cleavage, you use a cleavage bra. Simple. You just find the best bra for you, one that maximizes your cleavage and feels comfortable to wear all day and well into the night, and that's it. But then, what if you have to attend a social event, say an evening gala, and you don't want any bra to show yet wish to have a respectable cleavage? Well, you slap on a non-bra bra, all classified under the term 'cleavage enhancers'.
Bras designed to enhance a woman's cleavage have been around for sometime, often collectively lumped around 'push up bras'. Yet they are more than that. In actuality, cleavage bras not only push the breast up, but also towards the center to create a deep cleft in the center between the breasts called cleavage. The cleavage presents fuller breasts which men and many women find pleasing. Hence, the popularity of cleavage bras.
Cleavage bras and non-bras come in a variety of designs and styles. The true bras can be unpadded, bras that simply force the breasts nearer towards each other, or padded, filled with pads that push the breasts up and in. The pads may be removable to enable the wearer to control the look of the cleavage by inserting or removing pads as desired. The pads may come as sealed bags of foam, plasticine gel, water, polyurethane rubber and air.
Likewise, there is the so-called 'falsies', silicone gel pads also sometimes called 'chicken fillets' or 'chicken cutlets' used to pad bras. Some falsies are silicone cones used as illustrative breasts in plays and skits.
Aside from true bras, there are cleavage enhancers that are not bras per se. The simplest is some kinds of adhesive tape used at the breasts' bottom to bring them closer together. However, using the wrong tape, such as those with too strong adhesive, can result in blisters, torn skin, and rashes. Too weak adhesive and the tape can detach itself later on, ruining the evening.
Adhesive gels, meanwhile, a preformed gel pads stuck at the bottom and aides of the breasts then clipped together to bring the breasts closer inwards. They don't have straps or cups. Under-bras are another example of not-really-a-bra bras. They look very much like ordinary bras, with a band and straps, except that there are no cups as cups normally are. Instead, there are cross straps or pressure materials to create the cleavage. As its name indicates, an under-bra is worn inside a conventional bra, in effect giving the wearer two bras.
Finally, there is the prosthetic breast of either silicone or latex that is made to look like actual cleavage and worn on the actual breasts. Since it is essentially a fake cleavage its edges at the neck and sides must be hidden to complete the illusion.
If you wish to explore the possibilities of cleavage bras and other enhancers, you can visit www.orlinas.com and see for yourself how you can enhance your femininity through cleavage bras.

How to Find Your Quality Bra

With the price of bras nowadays, it takes no rocket science to understand why women would want quality bras, even if they are more costly initially. Imagine if you have to test-fit bras every now and then, saving the cost of finding the best bra again and again will compensate for the higher initial price of the quality bras you have. It is still a matter of economics for most things in life, including the bra.
So how would you go about finding your quality bra?
First, experts and professionals suggest you get measured. They say that a good percentage of women are wearing bras of the wrong size just because they were too embarrassed to have themselves fitted at the store. So have yourself measured under your bust and over them to know your exact size.
Next, find the bra of the correct form. Not only must your bra cup and support your breasts right, but it should likewise be positioned correctly: about midway between the shoulders and your elbows, and the cups should position your breasts forward, with no bulging around the sides to hamper arm movement. Plus, only about an inch should separate your breasts.
Third, find a snug band fit. Contrary to rather common belief, it is not the cups that support the breasts but the bra band. Thus a quality bra must be snug and level around the chest, and you can insert two fingers only into the band before it feels uncomfortably tight. Have the band too loose and it will wander up and down as you move around; to tight and you will feel constricted and too uncomfortable.
Allow for the stretch of the elastic. The band will stretch little by little with normal use and over time, so fit the bra at the last hookeyes. You can then move to the following hookeyes as the bra stretches to keep it snug around your chest. It will obviate you buying a new one for longer.
Fifth, look for better support. A quality bra must support the breasts adequately, and supplementary support is given largely by seams. Your breast will lie on the seams so inspect them carefully: if they run across the cups, they will make your breasts appear fuller; if they run vertically, your breasts will lie forward and more centered. Hence you can choose how you want your breasts to look.
Wear the correct clothes to the shop. Loose or high-neck clothes will not show how exactly the bra looks from the outside, so when you go shopping for bras be sure to wear tight or fitting clothes so you can see approximately how you will look when wearing the quality bra. Experts even recommend bringing the most clinging of your clothes to help find the right bra.
While finding the right quality bra is not easy, it should not be very difficult either. You simply have to know how and where. Perhaps you may want a glimpse of what you can choose from at www.orlinas.com so you can preselect before actually going to the shops.

Are Designer Bras Worth It?

Search the Internet and you will find a lot of pages that actually discuss this thing (except that they are not about bras). There are a lot of respondents who say 'No', but also many others who say 'Yes' and 'Yes, if'. Their arguments are all really logical and you could swing from one end to the other as you read on, which can leave you still undecided after going through all of them.
It is called label whoring --- that predilection to buy and parade around branded clothes just because they are designer clothes. For these people, the brand is everything and they flaunt it, even steer conversations around to it, just so they can attract attention being chic and stylish and all that jazz. Perhaps that is the value to get for the ultra-high price they pay for their designer dresses or handbags or whatever. But what happens if the designer clothes they bought would be hidden from view, like designer bras?
Actually, as mentioned above, people get a level of satisfaction knowing they are wearing designer clothes, even designer bras, for instance. Because the clothes' price is higher than those of the ordinary, wearing a designer dress means the wearer can afford to buy it. This is called the 'snob appeal' of expensive items, and it makes the owner feel a cut above the rest of humanity. As a result he (or she) will feel more confident and assured about everything else.
Another thing is that much designer apparel, like designer bras, are truly of better quality or design than others, more particularly where there was originality. The rationale was that designer clothes are better because they were designed to be that way, and hence the higher prices. They would be better in materials, concept, design and quality.
You cannot argue against how women gush about Victoria's Secret and other famous brands, and how the quality of these designer bras far exceed those sold at department stores.
On the other hand, people also believe that designer labels are essentially only what you buy, the goodwill and name attached to the brand, even the exclusivity of the brand, but the apparel themselves are made by producers who also make unbranded ---and thus lower-priced--- identical items. In short, the people who manufacture designer bras also produce identical -in every way-- items that, without the brand name, are priced much lower. Therefore, unbranded clothes ---and bras, for that matter--, equal branded clothes and bras in everything except price.
Finally, many other people are ambivalent about the points. They feel that designer bras, for instance, have their place in the scheme of things. They say that if you feel good about buying and using designer bras and can afford them, go ahead and do that. But just because they carry a famous label does not automatically mean they are better than lower-priced bras, though some are worth the price.
You simply have to look for them, online if you want, at sites like www.orlinas.com.
This could be the most logical reasoning, don't you think?

Do You Need Push-Inward Bras?

When you swing your upper arms, do they brush your bra? Do your breasts point more outward than frontward? Is your cleavage over two inches apart? If they do, then you might need push-inward bras.
You would perhaps be more familiar with the 'push up bra', which essentially pushes up the breasts to create bigger-looking 'mammas'. Push-inward bras do that, too, plus push inwards to generate a better cleavage and keep the bra side panels off the arms' swingway to make you look sexier, slimmer and even a bit taller.
Essentially, a push-inward bra does not differ much from a push up bra, except for the side padding that push the breasts inward. Such paddings are molded to the bra's form and may be made of fabric, gel, plasticine rubber, water pouches or small air bags. The bras may likewise have underwires, those short lengths of metal sewn (or sometimes not) under the cup that form the lower cup part, support the breast and even protect it in some ways.
Most push-inward bras have wide side panels or seams for better side support, comfortable wear and help the inserts from bulging outward. The cups' sides are often seamed and made a bit more rigid for the same reasons. Wide back wings also help reshape the body, smoothing out bulges created by fatty areas. Straps may likewise be wider than ordinary to help support the push up action of the bra.
Because most push-inward bras are made for wearing in special occasions such as parties, gala events, and social evenings, they are made of appropriate materials. Lace, silky fabrics, Lycra, Spandex and those that feel smooth to the touch are used in these bras. They are often half-cups in their many variations since the primary purpose is to show the cleavage.
However, most push-inward bras are not correct for every woman so that to find yours you need to test each variation for correct fit. The designs for the cups vary, so many will be either too small or too large, too narrow or too stiff for you. Using the incorrect bra can be more disadvantageous than advantageous, such as having the 'four-boobs effect', when each breast bulges over the bra cup that is too small for it.
Another ill effect is when the bra makes 'forward points' or 'pointed torpedoes', pointed ends instead of rounded forms for good décolletage. In short it would be counterproductive to use incorrect push-inward bras.
Push-inward bras were designed to give a woman that feeling of beauty and sexiness that makes a woman really a woman. But no matter how useful a push-inward bra could be, when the wrong one is selected, all the intended benefits will be negated and even reversed. It is thus advisable to consult with a professional on this matter at the outset to get the correct push-inward bra for you. It will be worth the effort.
You can find examples of them at www.orlinas.com, and maybe you will like to test one or two.

What to Look for in the Best Push Up Bra

If you believe you need a push up bra, then it follows that you'd want the best one you can have. Not easy to find, but not very difficult either, if you know which bra you're looking for. With the significant number of bras in the market, not mentioning the number of variations of each design, you would be hard put to choose which. Thus it might be prudent to know a little about what the best such bra could be.
A push up bra is one which lifts the breasts to give the appearance of volume and stance; that is, breasts that are larger and perkier that they really are. The normal intention actually was to create a nicer cleavage for the wearer that she can show with clothes of low necklines. This lift is usually accomplished by padding the bra cups with some material like foam, gel, water and even air in some designs. In a few designs, the padding may be removable so the wearer can deduct or add them for comfortable wearing.
So what qualities or characteristics the best push up bra should have?
Material comfort. Satin, lace, cotton, Spandex... whatever, the best push up bra must be comfortable to wear and yet give the desired results. Like make-up, the best bra is one that makes you feel you are not wearing any, but makes you look sexy as a movie star.
Not too pushy. Many women who use push up bras prefer that their breasts look just one size bigger and not more than that. Two sizes larger and they would feel 'huge'; three sizes over and they think they would appear ridiculous, and experience occasional pain because of the pressure exerted on the breasts. Besides, too much push and the breast might jump out of the cup, so the best bra is one decidedly not too pushy.
Adjustable straps. This is for a comfortable wear more than anything else. Some women's breasts enlarge during or sometime between menstrual periods so the best push up bra must be adjustable to be comfortable to wear at all times. Wide straps also eliminate the chance to have 'strap lines', the depression or indentations in the shoulders caused by the bra straps.
Colors and more colors. So one bra can be worn with any particular dress color.
Padding perfect. Some paddings hurt while others move restlessly around when you are in motion. Still others don't feel natural and are uncomfortable. The correct padding is one of the major factors to consider when looking for the best push up bra.
Price. Naturally, the best bra is the one you wear because you can afford it. What's the use of the most beautiful bra there is if you can't buy it for yourself? It is still economics for the best bra and that's inescapable.
To help you start your quest for the best push up bra, try www.orlinas.com and see what will interest you. Maybe your best bra is there, who knows?

Are You Bothered by Lumps Under Your Armpit?

Many women are afflicted by lumps or bumps under the armpit or a little forward of it. Such lumps normally are not painful even when squeezed a little, maybe soft or a bit hard, roundish or oval, movable or stays in place. Some grows in time; others don't. Some can be ignored but in others you must see your doctor, and even a specialist if necessary.
There are many reasons a lump formed under your armpit. It can be, for instance, just a subcutaneous abscess or inflammation under the skin caused by an infection. People get some form of abscesses almost anywhere in the body lie in the teeth or gums, throat and wherever infectious bacteria can grow. In the case of armpit bumps, the abscess may be the result of infected armpit hair follicles of which hair you shaved and irritated the follicle. It can be cured by antibiotics or surgery, if extensive, as the doctor may advise.
Or the abscess may be caused by too much antiperspirant or deodorant that are spread on too thick, blocking the pores from excreting substances that should be pushed out, along with the skin bacteria. This may cause the bacteria to multiply, resulting in a small abscess. Dirty razor or shaving the armpit too close may likewise infect the hair follicles and cause the armpit bump.
Sometimes, though, the armpit bump may be due to the lymph nodes doing their job. Lymph nodes are tissues that act as blood filters, removing impurities much like the liver does to what we eat and drink. The axillary lymph nodes in the armpits would sometimes swell when there are cuts or abrasions on the skin to prevent the effects of infection from spreading. Lymph nodes feel like large half-peanut that moves a little when pushed.
But the armpit bump can also a form of lipoma, a kind of fatty adipose tumor that is usually benign, and need not bother you unless it causes you pain or some discomfort. A medical professional can determine for you whether it really lipoma, which feels soft, or another kind of growth, which is commonly firmer.
Rarely, however, the armpit bump may be caused by extra breast tissue. Funny as it may seem, breast fat tissue can develop under the armpits, too, and they can be all sizes. Cases have been documented of such bumps actually hanging from the armpit, and there are cases as well of one armpit simply growing bigger than the other. The result is a lopsided look for the woman which prevents her from wearing sleeveless clothes.
Whatever the cause it is advisable for you to seek medical attention when you feel any kind of armpit bumps. Only a doctor or specialist can really give a definitive opinion probably after a series of tests, whether the lump is benign, cancerous, should be surgically excised, treatable with antibiotics and other common drugs, or eliminated through skin or muscle toning exercises. Most ailments can be cured if treated early enough, even cancer.
So consult with a physician about your armpit bump if only for your peace of mind.

The 'Support' in the Support Bra

The term 'support' in support bras can be misleading sometimes if you do not understand how the term is used. First, the word 'support' is used in many ways, including back and neck support, and support for the bust, which maybe as cup support, support to minimize movement and lift support. Some bras give maximum or full support while others are designed for only a specific support function. So to know a little more about what support bras are all about, below are some information you might like to know.
Breast support bras
For these, there is the full cup or full support bra that fully covers and supports the breast. They may have or not have plastic boning or underwire for form and support and are usually available for all breast sizes but more particularly for the larger ones. These bras may also be unpadded or padded with foam, fabric, gel and small air bags for comfortable wear.
There are also light support bras that do not have underwiring or underboning and less constricting than full support bras. They are best for smaller breasts and come in padded or unpadded designs as matter of preference.
Then there is the front closing racerback support bra with the back in a different design and non-adjustable straps. Support is provided by the band and the traps. Racerback bras are often used in lieu of the sports bra, even though they are not designed to be true sports or athletic bras.
The true sports bra fully covers the upper torso in such a way that breast movement is minimized even during the most rigorous activities. The breast is somewhat flattened to perform the function, so there is also practically no strain on the breast muscles that is probably when the breast itself constantly moves. Sports bras may be advisable for sports oriented teeners whose breasts are still growing.
Sports bras likewise support the torso during athletic exercises.
Underwire or plastic cup support in a bra helps form the rounded bottom in the cup many people find appealing. As the name indicates, the bra cup's bottom has a metal or plastic insert that keeps the cup's form no matter how the wearer moves. However, the underwired bra may be painful if worn incorrectly, so when buying one choose about a size bigger than normal for comfort. It must be a bit loose to be worn comfortably.
Back support bras
On the other hand, there are bras designed to support the back and perhaps correct the wearer's posture. These back support bras have criss-crossed back bands that help pull the shoulders in and prevent the wearer from slouching or slumping, which can result in upper back and neck pains. The benefits of wearing such bras are discussed in another article in this series.
Now you know how support bras help you. You can look for your desired bra at online sites like http://www.orlinas.com and have them mail it to you for a more convenient way of shopping.

What Causes Drooping Breasts?

Hard to believe, but drooping or sagging breasts are common, natural and inevitable as the woman ages. Many women complain of saggy breasts and oftentimes consider it ugly, not normal or even weird. Yet, medicine believes sagging breasts will come to a woman at some point of her life because it is part of physical nature.
Saggy breasts may be due to several causes: pregnancy, dieting, menopause, genetics and size.
A pregnant woman's breasts will naturally swell as milk develops in them, stretching the skin to adapt to this change. Once breastfeeding is stopped -or earlier if she does not breastfeed-the breast will shrink because it will contain less milk, but the stretched skin may remain, making saggy breasts.
The same happens if the woman loses weight or reaches menopause. Losing weight reduces the fatty tissues in the breasts but does not contract the skin. In menopause, the milk ducts in the breasts shrink but the skin does not contract as fast, so the breasts get a droopy look. How long and how much shrinkage, droopiness and other factors the breasts assume is determined partly by the genetic makeup of the individual.
As to size, bigger breasts tend to droop or sag faster due to gravity, which pulls on them stronger because they have more mass.
The sagging of the breasts may be prevented through the correct diet, exercise and a good bra.
The skin's elasticity, which determines in part how the breasts 'stand', is influenced greatly by what we ingest. Eating food rich in protein can promote the synthesis of collagen, the substance that maintains skin elasticity. A more elastic skin supports the breasts more strongly and thus minimize saggy breasts.
While it is not possible to tone the breasts, exercising the muscles under them can make appear firmer and perkier. There are instruction on special exercises for this purpose available online that you can copy and try to alleviate saggy breasts. The exercises may include pressing dumbbells and pushups.
Finally, a good quality bra can improve saggy breasts. Breasts have no muscles to keep them upright, and only the Cooper's ligaments that attach them to the thorax plus the skin are their only means of support. The ligaments cannot be exercised, and the skin by their very nature tends to stretch when constantly tautened, which is what happens to breasts. Thus a good support bra worn the greater part of the day can help lessen the tendency of the breasts to sag.
Ditto for a lift bra when the sagging is more pronounced. Not only will it support saggy breasts but a good lift bra will make them look better, perkier and more youthful. If the breasts are heavy, such bras with wide straps may be recommended to help distribute the weight over a wider area of the shoulders. For a look at what lift bra or a good support bra designs for saggy breasts that may be available for you, you can visit www.orlinas.com. They have a wide range of bras that one or two would be best for you.

Choosing the Correct Lift Bra

Like it or not the breast will sag in time or after serving its purpose; sometimes slowly, other times more quickly, particularly the larger ones. It is, after all, made of tissue mostly and less muscles so you cannot tone it by exercising like you do your biceps or abdominals. Through constant pull by gravity ---weight-the skin of the upper part will in time stretch and the breast will sag. Other reasons are pregnancy, since when the breast is full of milk the skin stretches to accommodate the growth, and rarely returns to its original size.
Breastfeeding and menopause are two more reasons breast sag.
For a sagging breast or whatever reason, the answer is a lift bra. It differs from a push up bra in that the latter simply pushes against the breast tissue to create a more pronounced cleavage, while the lift bra raises the whole breast up and forward, at the same time supporting it for comfort and shape. Thus the breast will appear more perky and upright, and therefore younger-looking in shape and appearance. The end-result is that the lift bra wearer feels more confident and feminine over-all.
However, many women and stores think of push-up bras when you mention or ask about lift bras since the two very similar in form and function.
But what consists of a good lift bra? That is actually a question individual to the woman who wants one. Every designer and manufacturer has his own idea of what a good lift bra should be or have though they agree on what it should do, but any woman instinctively knows what she must have, informed or otherwise. It actually depends on the breast needing the bra.
Some women have breasts that are rather rounder topside that may simply need a full-figure lift bra to prevent the breast from jiggling and juggling. Other women are fuller bottomside and thus may require just padding to lift the breast. Still others have side-pointing nipples so would need bras that push the breast inwards and up, while there are women whose breasts are rather small and pointy for which an altogether design may be necessary.
To further complicate matters, whatever type of lift bra is chosen, it will be worn as long as 15 or more hours a day, so if it is uncomfortable in the first few hours such discomfort will increase as the day goes on. And, of course, there is the bra to wear on special occasions such as formal gatherings or social parties. The lift bra you use at your everyday work would not be appropriate for such kind of events so you would need a different bra but of virtually the same specifics as to sizes but of different fabric and styling.
So in selecting your lift bra, be sure of several things:
1) it is comfortable to wear;
2) it gives you the necessary lift and support;
3) it is appropriate to the occasion you plan to use it in; and
4) you can afford it.

Give Yourself a Manicure in a Fast Five Minutes

What's the point of perfect hair, teeth, and skin if your nails aren't flawless as well? Nothing completes a look more perfectly than when your nails are smooth and trimmed. Some women decorate with decals and shatter polish, while others opt for nudes and light pinks. Some even declare the all the natural look their style. Whatever your poison may be, read the following tips for a manicure that is quick and flawless.
First, gather all your necessary manicure supplies. This helps to avoid the scatter-brained running back and forth that wastes so much of our precious time. And manicures are meant to be somewhat relaxing! Skip the mess altogether and keep all your supplies in a basket for easy access. You'll need a file, some cotton balls, polish remover, a polish of your choice, cuticle/nail cream, cuticle stick, clippers, base coat, top coat, bowl of warm water, towel, small paint brush, and some hand cream. This sounds like a lot, but you probably have all of these supplies in a cupboard together already!
Use your clipper to get your desired nail length. Then, use your file to smooth and neaten the edges. File from up and toward the center of your nail to prevent undesirable chipping. With a fine grain file, give each nail a quick buff to smooth out any unsightly ridges. Crystal nail files are great for this purpose as they are praised for being durable and have highly effective grains.
Next, work your cuticles. Pop your hands into the bowl of warm water to soften your cuticles for at least 20 seconds. The water should be warm, but not scalding hot. Dry your hands with the towel and apply the cuticle/nail cream to each finger. Push back each cuticle with a cuticle stick or if lacking one, your finger nail. Remember to be kind to your cuticles. Cuticles are meant to keep harmful bacteria at bay, so cut only when necessary.
After wiping off excess cream from your nails, apply your polish. First, the base coat. When looking for a base coat, look for one that doubles as a top coat to save yourself money! The purpose of the base coat is to ensure that your chosen polish will apply smoothly. Now, go ahead and apply the base coat. Next, the color of your choice. The easiest colors to paint are the lighter colors like pale pinks and nudes. These shades mask uneven application and are great for a girl that doesn't have the time to apply two to three coats. OPI has a great selection of polishes that are chip resistant and difficult to remove. Finally, apply the top coat. The top coat will help to seal the manicure and help your color last longer. This is essential for those of us who type quite frequently.
Clean up. Many times, our left hand is polished perfectly, while our right could use a little touch up. Never fear! Use your polish remover, small paintbrush, and some napkins to rid yourself of nasty slip ups. If you feel comfortable, purchase a bottle of 100% acetone. Acetone is known to dry out your skin and there are many conflicting claims regarding the amount absorbed by skin. Many recommend to use straight acetone only as a means of clean up. Use your regular polish remover to eliminate previous nail color. Also, acetone will eat through the finish on your table, laptop, cell phone - so be careful! It is also highly flammable so do not burn a candle nearby due to fumes possibly igniting. Do not pour down your drain or toilet as it may burn through plastic pipes. To get rid of acetone, simply soak up with an old rag and let it evaporate outside. Soak your paintbrush in the acetone and gently remove any polish that was accidentally applied to cuticles. Be sure to wipe the brush on a napkin as it picks up polish to avoid smudging.
Now, go ahead and admire your handiwork and show off your nails with pride!... And to think it only took five minutes of your time!

Picking The Right Party Women's Dresses That Best Fit Your Personality

If you have received an invitation to a special event or party, then the first thing that will surely come to your mind is what style, color or design of party dress to wear. Nowadays, there are plenty of choices available for you to choose from depending on your choice of brand, personal style and body figure. So to help you choose the perfect dress that best fits your individual style, here are some of the things you need to consider.
Determine the Theme of the Party
Of course, it is relatively crucial to consider the actual theme of the party before searching for suitable attire. If the party or event requires dress code, then this calls for you to look for stunning womens dresses that will surely make you the center of attraction (in a good way). If for example you are attending tea parties, then casual, modest dresses will do. But if you are going to dance parties, it is often advisable to wear something with bright, brilliant colors. Cocktail parties, on the other hand, generally call for short, gleaming dresses.
Consider Your Personal Style
Another essential factor to consider when picking for the right party dress is your personality. Hence to find the attire that suits you best, you can flip through some magazines or visit some websites that provide information on recent fashion trends. Today, there are lots of online fashion stores that sell hottest party dresses for men and women alike. In case you are not sure of what exactly suits you best, you can also consult some of your friends or family. If you have the budget, then you may also get some professional advice from the experts.
Know What Dress Fits Your Body Shape
This is perhaps the common mistake done by many women when choosing party dresses. Aside from your personality, it is also important to take into account the shape of your body. Keep in mind that picking the right womens dresses for your particular body shape will not only help you look good, but also make you feel good about yourself. The primary idea here is to wear something that will bring out the best in you, and not only because it is the latest fashion trend. As Jean-Paul Gaultier quoted, "Elegance is a question of personality, more than one's clothing." So before you rush to the nearest designer clothes shop or set your order in an online fashion store, make sure to take your measurements first.
Find the Right Fabric and Color
Color and fabric of the dress can make a huge difference on the way you look. Ideally, you must choose a color of dress that matches your skin complexion. You must never attempt to match the color of your dress with the color of your shoes for this is often considered tacky. Like colors, fabrics are important too. Some of the best fabrics for party dresses are satin and silk.
Indeed, it could be very frustrating to find the most appropriate womens dresses for special parties or events. Thus, it is highly recommended to get professional advice and to always consider your individual styles when searching for this clothing. With these tips in mind, you will definitely have tons of confidence as you come to any types of parties.

Religion and Culture Towards Women Ignored Today

In today's world, girls and women everywhere struggle with their identity, character, and personality while trying to find their way through their belief system. Some are affected by their choice of belief system at their schools, work, and their community. The females that are mostly affected are young girls. Today, this is a subject that is ignored in the school systems.
We all have the right to choose our own belief system. But, when we do we should not be judged or penalized for it when we are in society. Most younger females that are apart of a religious background are not sure how to apply their moral psychological characteristics. This happens because in schools today, students do not respect and accept each other. Most do not because in their home, they are taught to only socialize with certain people or that some people are beneath them. Other students that live in a lower class community would take their aggressions from home, bring their home issues to school while challenging and lashing out physically on students that do not have the same "like status" as them. While at school they find a way to continuously interrupt the religious students day negatively. They feel this is a way to become popular and happier by bullying and picking on other students. This causes the religious student to become one or more of the following: rebellious, rebellious toward religion, sad, depressed, have identity issues, become mute, self destruction, loneliness,or have other abnormal psychological disorders.
To have an understanding of what to expect in society today about different groups of people, most students do not have someone at home whom can explain to them in a way whereas they understand. All schools have social workers that are available to assist students that have special needs or students per request. What about the students that are visibly religious and the students that are not? Although, religion is forbidden in the school system I believe there should be a "Real Perspective" class for all students in every school district. This particular class would be geared towards today's crossroads of social interaction and cultural groups. These classes would provide religious students and students that are not with a better understanding of what acceptance means, how to respect other's choices, have a understanding of other cultures and religious groups in society, and teach them how to become independent of their own choices while having confidence in their own identity. Students will then have the choice to become stronger and be able to make better choices while growing into an adult. The "Real Perspective" class would also lessen the percentage of trouble making students, fights at schools, detentions, and suspensions.
In the past, I too went through similar situations as the young girls today. I was born and raised on the westside of Chicago. While living with parents, my siblings and I lived a religious life. Our religion brought us joy, but at the same time it brought about many questions. Some of the questions are questions students and other women have had for many years. Questions such as: who am I? Who am I representing? Why people don't accept you for who you are? Why some parents chose a certain belief system? Why does it affect us in society?
When a child or teen is emotionally, mentally, or physically hurt it becomes a personal issue for all. Unfortunately, when it comes to culture or religion it is not taken into perspective today in the school systems. My heart goes out to girls and women that have gone through or is experiencing this today. I will try my best to connect with girls and women everyone by using strategies that will provide them hope, laughter, self assurance, growth, happiness, motivation, self sufficiency, confidence, encouragement, inspiration, love, and strength.
Today, I am not religious, but I have a strong belief system of faith and prayer. Because of the confusion of society and religion I experienced growing as a female in the 90's, I lived a life of misunderstanding which later led me to being poor for quite some time. Today, I am an author, co-founder of a non-profit family and youth outreach ministry, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, marriage and family counselor, youth counselor, legal advocate, and has a Masters Degree in Higher Education. Soon, I will have my Doctoral Degree in Philosophy.
I am thankful for the teachings my parent's have taught me. What sticks out the most is prayer and family. There is certainly nothing like the power of love and togetherness. If they didn't teach me these resourceful tools of life, I would not have known how to teach my children and others to become socially involved by using the power of faith in society. Today, I am also humbly grateful!
To help other women and girls positively overcome the affects of religion in society, I welcome you to share your story of religion at school, at work, or in the community at http://www.authorslj.com/blog.html. You will also be able to purchase in e-book format or paperback.

How to Find the Best Salon and Hairdresser for You

Just because one of your friends brags about her hairdresser does not automatically mean you will also receive the same great results with her hairdresser. There are a number of factors you need to consider when you are finding the best hairdresser and salon for you. It requires you to further learn about things such as specialities, service price points, and your overall rapport with the hairdresser of the salon. Also, if you do your homework, you are more likely to have a great salon experience.
1. If someone refers a hair salon to you, you need to compare hair types before you take the recommendation. If your friend has kinky curls and you have straight hair, you might not be saying the same praises after her hairdresser do your hair. Before you make an appointment, always check if a hair salon has specific specialities. If your hair is dry and frizzy, look for a hair salon that makes use of mild products. One of the great ways to have the best results you always wanted is to look for a salon that specifically caters to your hair type.

2. You would probably need to make an appointment a few months in advance if you are going for the best and top hair salon in the city. The best one with the best service costs hundreds of dollars for a haircut alone. There is totally nothing wrong about going to such high-end salon as long as you are able to pay for the services, but if you are on a smaller budget, you might need to look for a salon you can afford and still get satisfying results. You can ask people in order to check on prices. However, higher price does not necessary mean better hairdresser. Usually with high-end hair salons, you pay much more for the facilities than you do for the actual hair service. A mid-priced hair salon you could afford is ideal for feeling convenient on a tighter budget.
3. You must be comfortable with your hairdresser. Without an easy feeling between the two of you, it may be tough for you to get the color, style, or cut that you like. Hairdressers can be intimidating at times, so find the one you can be comfortable giving instructions to. Being frank and direct with your hairdresser means you will not have problem elaborating what you really want and even requesting for some changes when you did not like a certain style. If you have a not-so good experience with a hairdresser, just keep looking until you find the right one who could meet your needs and expectations.
4. If you are not able to find the right salon and hairdresser for you, after following the above mentioned tips, you may want to consider looking for a great hairdresser online. This way, you can save a lot of time and not have to drive from one salon to another in search for the right one for you.

Simple But Useful Clothing and Fashion Tips

I realized that a lot of people have trouble with dressing up. That is why I have decided to share some tips with you. I hope you will learn something useful in this article.
Don't Be Cheap
This tip is for people who are not willing to spend more money on new clothes. Believe it or not, your appearance can make or break you. It can determine whether you will get the next promotion. It can determine whether you will be able to attract that dream girl or dream guy.
So don't be too cheap when it comes to buying clothes. Nobody is asking you to spend like a millionaire. You can get good deals if you are willing to spend the time and effort to search for them.
Don't Be Too Extravagant
Yes, you should not be cheap. But you don't want to be too extravagant as well. Spend within your means. You don't have to go broke by always following the latest fashion. More often than not, it is okay to be one or two steps behind the latest fashion because most people are not in the fashion industry anyway.
You Do Not Have To Know Everything - Just Ask For Help
No one is an expert in everything. It is alright to be ignorant about fashion or dressing up in general. Therefore the best way around this issue is to ask for help. I am sure you have friends who can help you out in this area.
You do not have to seek out the number one expert in the fashion industry. Just seek the advice of friends who know how to dress appropriately. They will be able to pick the best clothes for you and help you improve your overall appearance.
Be Confident and Learn How to Smile
Your appearance is not all about what you wear. An aura of confidence and a genuine smile can greatly enhance your outlook. Let us put it this way. You can dress a little bit shabbily but if you have an aura of confidence and a genuine smile, people will still forgive you for your dressing.
If In Doubt Choose Black
There are so many colors and this can cause a lot of confusion especially for those who are usually indecisive. Therefore, if you do not know what color to go for, black is probably the best option.
Don't Wear Black All The Time
Although I have mentioned above that black is usually the best color, you should not be wearing black all the time. Why? Because black is considered an unfriendly color! Therefore, if you are meeting a client and you want to portray a friendly attitude, it is advisable to choose a brighter color. For example, grey is probably a better color than black in this type of situation.

How to Lose Weight Without Starving Yourself

Unless you have an awesome metabolism, we all crave ways to shed unwanted weight without starving our growling tummies. I myself have a particularly sweet tooth. How do we lose the pounds without giving up the foods we love? Try the following.
Walk:
Take every opportunity to put some mileage on those legs! Walk at least one to three miles a day for six days out of the week. Your walk should take about an hour at the most. I've found it to be extremely fun to take a walk with a friend, but feel free to utilize a treadmill if you have one.
Some tips when walking:
- Always be sure to have good quality running shoes with plenty of room for your toes.
- Walk at a pace that's comfortable for you. The pace should be a little faster than your normal gait.
- Integrate fast walking or jogging for 30 seconds at a time.
- Keep your shoulders back and chin straight. Posture is important!
- Lengthen your stride to tone your inner and outer thighs more efficiently.
- Don't forget to stretch after your walk!
Work Outs:
Upon completing your walk utilize at least three of the following exercises to help tone your legs.
1. Thigh Raise - Lie face down with your arms crossed and supporting your head. Extend your legs straight out so that your feet are a few inches off of the ground. Bend your knees slightly while keeping them off of the ground. Hold in this position for at least 15 seconds. Slowly unbend your knees, lower your legs to the ground, and repeat at least once.
2. Leg Raise - Sit on the floor with your right knee bent and left leg fully extended. Lift you left leg up so that it is at least 6 inches off of the ground. Hold for five seconds and lower (with control). Do at least five reps for each leg.
3. Kick Backs - Get on your elbows and knees. Keep your back flat. Raise your left leg with your knee bent and heel pointed to the ceiling. Hold this position for five seconds then slowly lower your leg. Do five reps for each leg.
4. Leg Lifts - Stand and hold on to the back of a chair. Move one of your legs back at an angle with toes touching the floor. Raise this foot until your heel is at least 12 inches off of the floor. Hold this position for five seconds. Do at least 10 or more reps for each leg.
5. Sit on the Wall - Stand with your back against the wall. Slide down until your thighs and parallel to the floor. It should look like you are sitting in an imaginary chair. Hold for 30 seconds to two minutes. Repeat at least 3 times.
Eat Healthy
Many people count calories to help lose weight. While this is an effective strategy, what's left for those of us who aren't calorie calculators? Here are a few tips to help you lower your calorie intake without becoming obsessed with nutrition labels.
- Eat when you are hungry, do not starve yourself!! Those that starve themselves normally overeat when it's time for a meal.
- Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Water helps you feel full, but should NOT replace any meals.
- Pick one unhealthy thing that you eat and steer clear from it. I have an unhealthy addiction to Oreos and have told myself that I will allow myself a cookie a day. (I've found that designating Sunday as Oreo Day is disastrous as I'll eat them nonstop.)

How to Interact With Your Hairdresser and Get the Haircut or Hairstyle You Like

A bad haircut may be the worst thing you could bring home from a visit to a salon. Sometimes poor communication and understanding between you and your hairdresser contribute to this bad experience. You need to make sure that you let your hairdresser know and understand what you like. However, you also need to lend a listening ear and consider your hairdresser's ideas on what suits you best.
Here are some tips on how to speak to and interact with your hairdresser and get the haircut or hairstyle you've always wanted.
• See to it that your hairdresser touches and inspects your hair, checks the thickness or thinness before he grabs a pair of scissors. It is necessary that your hairdresser checks at the current look of your hair, checks out the growth patterns of your hair, and asks you how you style your hair at present time before he or she proceeds with cutting your hair.
• As much as possible, use the lingo of your hairdresser. There are terms that are exclusively used in hairdressing and there are words which mean a different thing when you are at a salon. Your hairdresser would appreciate it if you be more specific and descriptive. For example, when your hairdresser is currently working with your bangs, tell him or her if you prefer soft bangs or hard bangs. Say the things you do not like up front like "I do not like hard lines."
• Bring a photo of a haircut or hairstyle that you like. Sometimes this is the best and quickest option. Just hand in the photo to your hairdresser and he or she just needs to remake it with your hair.
• Remember that there is a huge difference between the words "shorter" and "short." Be extra careful in using such words, otherwise you would not get the right length you want and go home disappointed and irritated because your hair is way shorter than you expected. The best thing to do is to give a specific figure to your hairdresser. You can say, "Chop off no more than two inches." This way, your hairdresser would have a clear idea of how short you would want your hair or bangs to be.
• After elaborating the things you would want for your hair, ask your hairdresser nicely if you have conveyed your point clearly. However, you could also consider the ideas of your hairdresser and be open to his or her suggestions, besides he or she is expected to be good at determining what is best for clients.

Some Fashion and Beauty Tips for Women

Women are always sensitive about how others view them. If you are a woman, I am sure you are going to agree with me. That is why I have decided to write this article to help you out. I hope that you will learn some useful beauty and fashion tips from this article.
Tip 1: Your Friends Know You Best
Obviously, when it comes to fashion, you do not want to go to the wrong person for advice. If Peter is someone who dresses sloppily all the time, it is probably not a good idea to take his advice seriously.
When it comes to fashion advice, you want to look for someone who practices what he or she preaches. So you want to look for friends who are dressing decently.
Your friends have known you for a long time. They will be able to give you some really good advice. All you have to do is to ask and I am pretty sure they will be very keen to share their wisdom with you.
Tip 2: Wear Mini Skirt If You Have Great Legs
If you have the assets, don't be afraid to flaunt it. If you don't do it while you are still young, you will no longer have the chance when you grow old.
For example, if you have a pair of long and smooth legs, don't be afraid to wear mini skirt. Some men love legs. If your boyfriend or husband happens to be a 'leg' person, why not wear mini skirt to seduce him. He will probably become very sweet to you. This may also be a great way to spice up your sex life.
Tip 3: Health Is Important
No matter how beautiful you want to look, health should never be compromised.
For example, it is probably not a good idea to do a breast implant as you never know whether it will lead to any side effects in the future. It is probably better to wear a push up bra if you want to 'enhance' your assets when you are meeting a guy you like.
Of course, the choice is yours. However, you should be aware of the fact that 'big' does not necessary means 'good'. You may be surprised that many men actually love small and natural.
Tip 4: Simple Is Good
Fashion is just fashion! Fashion is not your life. You don't have to follow fashion all the time and get yourself stressed up. Sometimes, simplicity is the best.
For example, if you are cooking with your boyfriend, there is no point wearing the most expensive dress and putting on makeup. You will do better just by wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans.
If your boyfriend truly loves you, he will find you beautiful no matter what you wear.
I hope you have learned at least one thing from this article. Being beautiful and fashionable is not really that difficult as long as you are willing to put in a little bit of effort.

Clothing Tips for Women

Who says it is easy to be a woman? There are so many things that a woman has to worry about - the kids, the household chores, husband/boyfriend, career and most importantly her wardrobe!
But fear not! Nowadays, you can find so many tips on the Internet. In fact, you are going to learn some useful clothing tips in this article.
Tip 1: Always Have a Maxi Dress In Your Wardrobe
Every woman should own a maxi dress. If you are a woman and you do not have a maxi dress in your wardrobe you should consider buying one immediately.
Why maxi dress? Well, there is a very simple reason. Anyone can wear a maxi dress. (Obviously, I am referring to women only.) It does not matter whether you are 50 or 30. It does not matter whether you are fat or thin. As long as you are a woman, you can wear a maxi dress.
In fact, I like to call a maxi dress a wonder dress.
Tip 2: Confidence Is Key
I know this is suppose to be an article about clothing tips. This is not suppose to be a self improvement article. However, I believe that it is still important to talk about confidence.
Ultimately, if you do not have confidence in yourself, you will not be able to portray the beauty even if you are wearing the best dress in the world.
On the other hand, if you radiate confidence, you will look beautiful even if you just wear a simple t-shirt.
Tip 3: Black Is The Ultimate Color
Sometimes, it can be difficult to choose a dress when there are so many colors to choose from.
Well, here is an advice for you. When in doubt, just choose black. Of course, I am not saying that a black color dress is suitable for every single occasion. However, black is probably one of the most versatile color when it comes to clothing.
Black can be easily paired with other colors. Another advantage of a black color dress is that it doesn't get 'dirty' too easily. At least, people won't notice the dirtiness).
Tip 4: Go For Discount and Sales
Most women probably spend a significant amount of their income on clothes. Therefore, I decided to share this tip with you.
Many shops offer great discount from time to time. Sometimes, you will know when a sales will be coming. Why not wait for the sales period. You can get a lot of great bargain by waiting for the sales.
When you can save money, you will have more money to buy other clothes or women accessories, if that is what you chose to do with the extra money. Isn't that a great idea?
Are you a woman staying in Singapore? Why not try singapore online shopping? You can definitely buy clothing online.

Famous Female Blackjack Players

The First Qualified Blackjack Performer - Eleanore Dumont
The first famous female Blackjack performer was none other than Eleanore Dumont. Born in France, she brought to the rugged gold mines of America her refined, European manners. An expert dealer, she opened gambling facilities during the hey day of the Gold Rush in mining towns across the West. She allowed no cursing or unkept men in her establishment and, oddly enough, banned women from playing at her tables. Ever refined, keeping men at arms length, once she amassed her fortune she fell head over heels in love with a con artist who would take every dime and sell her ranch.
She rebuilt her establishment, but as she aged she lost much of the mystery and allure that had once enticed so many gamblers who contributed to her wealth. As she passed her child bearing years she grew heavy facial hair and was called, behind her back of course, Madame Mustache. The Madame, however, stemmed more from her decision to branch out into the prostitution business, running both a gambling house and brothel in her late years.
Card Counter Blackjack - Cathy Hulbert
The only woman to hold the honor of being called one of the world's best Seven Card Stud poker players by Card Player magazine, Cathy Hulbert is a popular female player revered by Blackjack players across the globe.
It was during her college days that Hulbert honed her skills at the card table. After graduating college she left her gambling activities behind and worked for the Senate in New York. It wasn't long before she realized gambling was her passion. Packing her suit case, she moved to Las Vegas, landing a job as a blackjack dealer. An encounter with Ken Uston altered the course of her life. Part of the Czechs team of card counters, she became his eager student and eventually joined his group. She toured with The Czechs during the 60s and 70s, accumulating a small fortune in winnings.
Expelled from several casinos and even arrested, Cathy quietly changed her MO. She would often pose as a man, donning a wig and fake beard. She eventually switched to slots and, while not a game that is known for substantial payout, managed to do quite well. Today she still plays professionally.
Current Female Players
Today, there are a number of well known female blackjack players touring the circuit. Jennifer Tilly, a brash, Oscar nominated actress can often be seen playing televised tournaments. Annie Duke is another famous player better known as The Duchess of poker. These and other female players credit their success to skill and plain old women's intuition - and it seems to be working.
